Joyce Laboso Biography
Joyce Laboso is the late governor of Bomet county, born on 25th November 1960. She also served as a member of Parliament (MP) representing Sotik constituency in Bomet county. She was a member of the United Republican Party (URP) and a coalition member of Jubilee Alliance.
she succeeded her sister, Lorna Laboso, who passed away in a plane crash. She garnered 23,880 with a vote margin of 10,000 over her closest challenger, retired Brigadier Alexander Sitienei (a former aide to Daniel arap Moi) who received 13,843 votes.

Death and Cause of Death
Laboso passed away on 29th July 2019 after a long battle with cancer on 29 . She died at a hospital in Nairobi.
Prior to being admitted in Narobi hospital, Laboso had flown back into the country from India where she was being treated at after her condition got worse while receiving treatment in United Kingdom.
